Such a great way of keeping in touch with friends without the formality of a computer, anywhere, any time. And you can see whether they have picked up the message, and that’s useful too.

I hate autocorrect. If you don’t watch it like a hawk it messes things up. A friend’s son Johannes turned up as Johannesburg throughout! And sometimes the sense can be changed entirely.

If you write in vertical mode it can be difficult to scroll back to check. If you write in horizontal mode you are sometimes only able to see one line of text at a time instead of the whole message, and that is inconvenient too.

Phone calls can be a problem as they can suddenly cut out. Calls abroad are more reliable but local calls can be a nightmare with more than one cut per conversation.

I love the way it is so easy to share photos.
That is a big plus, without the faff of having to resize camera photos to a small enough pixel size to send.

That’s it for now! Enjoy it but be prepared for occasional feelings of exasperation!!

After IOS 17 whatsapp notifications need to select either “locked sreen” or “notification centre” or “banners” to have incoming message sound (and "sounds" below also enabled).

Before IOS 17 was not required any of those three options cheked, only with the sounds enable button we had incoming message sound.

Please fix it again.

I am using whatsapp on an iphone. I am using a number that i will pass it on to a different person.
I want to keep my chats in my device, and the person that will use the number to not be able to access these chats.
Can i connect to a new number?
Please advise.
