iPhone SDK 3.2 beta 2

Η Apple έδωσε σε κυκλοφορία το iPhone SDK 3.2 beta 2 το οποίο απευθύνεται στους iPad developers.

Ποιά είναι τα νέα χαρακτηριστικά που περιέχονται στο iPhone SDK 3.2 beta 2;

FIXED: Changing an iPhone Executable's working directory from "Build Products directory" may cause the application not to install properly with the error message "The Info.plist for application at (null) specifies a CFBundleExecutable of (null), which does not exist."

FIXED: In iPhone SDK 3.2 beta 1, Xcode's Transition feature did not work correctly if the SDK was installed in a location other than /Developer. In beta 2, the feature will work properly with the SDK installed in any location on your system.

FIXED: In iPhone SDK 3.2 beta 1, some users saw the message "A signed resource has been added, modified or deleted…" when rebuilding their projects. This has been fixed for beta 2.

Κι άλλα updates: Παρόλο που είναι κρυμμένo ως εικονίδιo, το Safari.app ανοίγει στο iPad emulator από το spotlight.

Για πρώτη φορά μπορούμε να δούμε πώς θα εμφανίζονται τα tabs και οι homepages.

Και επίσης το Mail.app μπορεί να ανοίγει πλέον απευθείας μέσα από τις ιστοσελίδες, επιλέγοντας συνδέσμους mailto:

Interface Builder
- FIXED: Building an iPhone application that uses UITableViewCell objects encoded in XIB files and then running that application in the simulator or on a device with a version less than 3.2 will result in a runtime exception. To workaround this, use the simulator with the 3.2 SDK.

MediaPlayer
- FIXED: If an MPMoviePlayerController object is set to full screen before calling presentMoviePlayerViewControllerAnimated:, the movie will not properly play fullscreen.
- FIXED: The simulator window incorrectly rotates to portrait when an MPMoviePlayerController object enters fullscreen from landscape.
- FIXED: An MPMoviePlayerController object does not behave properly when content is programmatically changed.
- FIXED: Exiting fullscreen mode of an MPMoviePlayerController object’s movie does not return the movie to its view frame.

Simulator
- FIXED: The split view template app doesn't show the 'Master List' button upon initial launch in portrait orientation. Rotating the simulator to landscape, then back to portrait, shows the button.

UIImage
- FIXED: The drawAsPatternInRect: method of UIImage draws the image upside down.

UIWebView
- NEW: The user agent string has been updated for the iPad.

Το καλύτερο όμως δεν το λες!

Το iPad έχει ενσωματωμένο έναν νέο ορθογραφικό έλεγχο!

Είναι κάτι μεταξύ ορθογράφου και θησαυρού, όπου όταν επιλέγετε μία λέξη, δίπλα από τις γνωστές επιλογές της αντιγραφής/επικόλλησης πλέον υπάρχει και το "Replace...". Εάν η λέξη είναι γραμμένη λάθος, προτείνονται κάποιες άλλες πιθανές ως σωστές. Ενώ εάν είναι ορθογραφικώς σωστή, προτείνονται κάποιες άλλες συνώνυμες.

Εάν μία λέξη είναι γραμμένη λάθος, γίνεται ροζ κι εμφανίζονται οι πιθανές εναλλακτικές:

Tο ακόμη καλύτερο είναι ότι δεν υποστηρίζει Ελληνικά.

Στο iPad η ελληνική αυτή δυνατότητα μάλλον θα βγει σε επόμενο firmware!

Στο iPhone όμως ίσως με την τελική 3.2!!!

Εκτός κι αν διατίθεται τότε μόνο σε μερικές γλώσσες και πιό μετά αναπτυχθεί και για άλλες! Κάτι σαν τα voice commands δηλαδή...

Στο iPad η ελληνική αυτή δυνατότητα μάλλον θα βγει σε επόμενο firmware!

Στο iPhone όμως ίσως με την τελική 3.2!!!

Άρα συμφωνείς ότι αυτό το feature είναι άχρηστο προς το παρόν στο Ελληνικό κοινό και έρχεται να προστεθεί στην ακόμα πιο τραγική έλλειψη της Ελληνικής γλώσσας. Αλλά ΟΚ με το update ίσως και όταν...

Ωραία όλα αυτά αλλά υπάρχουν και άλλα νέα..

Θυμάστε πως το iPad SDK σας πρόσφερε τη δυνατότητα να πάρετε μία φωτογραφία από μία ανύπαρκτη κάμερα;

Στην έκδοση 3.2 του iPad SDK η δυνατότητα αυτή έχει αφαιρεθεί μαζί με κάθε ελπίδα του iPad να αποκτήσει κάμερα. Τουλάχιστον αυτή τη φορά.
